RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (BARBER) AND CONSTABLE (WASHERMAN)- 2026

Secretariat Security Force (SSF) has invited online applications for the posts of Constable (Barber) and Constable (Washerman). These posts are Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) on a temporary basis, likely to be permanent. Eligible Male Indian citizens can apply online for this recruitment.

Age Limit

Minimum Age: 18 Years
Maximum Age: 23 Years
Age Limit will be calculated as on 28 April 2026.
Candidates should not be born earlier than 29 April 2003 and not later than 28 April 2008.
Age relaxation will be given as per government rules for SC/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/Departmental Candidates.

Selection Process

The selection process for Constable (Barber) and Constable (Washerman) will include multiple phases:

Phase I:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates will have to qualify in 1.6 Kms Race, Long Jump, and High Jump. This test is qualifying in nature.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest, and Weight measurements will be taken. This is also qualifying in nature.
Phase II:
- Written Examination: A 50-marks objective type multiple-choice test will be conducted. It will cover General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, Analytical Aptitude, and English/Hindi. There will be no negative marking.
Phase III:
- Trade Test: Qualified candidates from the written exam will appear for a 50-marks Trade Test in their respective profession. This test is qualifying with 50% marks needed for all categories.
Phase IV:
- Verification of Original Documents.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME) will be conducted as per guidelines.
